MEGlobal, a wholly owned subsidiary of EQUATE Petrochemical Company, constructed a new world-scale monoethylene glycol (MEG) manufacturing facility in Oyster Creek, TX, its first US location. The project consisted of 19,048 fabricated spools including: carbon, stainless, and high alloy stainless steel (Inconel & Monel). All spools were delivered in nine (9) months.
This critical path delivery contributed to this world-scale facility starting up eight (8) months faster than the industry average. Additionally, the project was awarded Engineering News Record’s (ENR) “Best Project – Louisiana & Texas”. Epic facilities welded over 700,000 Diameter inches and over 5,000 tons of total weight with pipe diameters up to 72 inches. Epic received a letter of appreciation from the CEO of EQUATE and was invited to attend the ribbon cutting of the facility upon commissioning.
